Exclusive interview with Pat - she lost 52kg's in 7 months!

Her story to success started when she wrote in to become one of The Biggest Losers. She wasn't chosen and was heartbroken. Then, one morning, on her way to work listening to Gareth Cliff, he mentioned how he hated fat people and that they need to buy two airline tickets. To Pat, that was just the motivation she needed. We asked Pat a few questions (things that any person wanting to loose weight would want to know:

Where do you start?
Find what works for you, start it and stick to it. Advice that I can give you is to shock your body by doing the opposite. I hated exercising and I didn’t drink water while I was on my diet history. This time round I did a lot of exercising and I drank a lot of water

How can you help me in achieving my weight loss goal?

I have written a book (HowUCanDoIt2) that tells my journey, how I started, helping you in getting your mindset right and includes exercises to help you on your way. I have a website (www.howucandoit2.com) where you can register and participate. We have a blog and forum, where we give regular advice. We share and celebrate the successes of people, as well as assisting you with dietary advice, exercise planner and much more. If you live in the Gauteng area, please take note! We will be hosting a seminar shortly, where we will be discussing:

* Various weight clubs will be involved to tell their side (this way you can make up your own mind which one might work for you)

* Excercise advice

* Clothing/make-up and make overs

* Exhibitors

* We will also be launching our latest challenge - definitely not to be missed!

On excercise, what have you achieved thus far?

When I started, I walked into the gym (no matter how embarrassing it is) and did whatever my body allowed me to do. My first day, I could only do 10 minutes, but I was back the next day. There is an example of my first 2 week excercising plan - go have a look. Another big achievement for me was when I ran my first 10km race a couple of weeks ago. Now understand, I'm a spinner, a boxer, but not a runner. But looking back, at one stage, I could not even jump up in the air - never mind running 10km's! After I lost my first 20kg's, I got the help in of a personal training, who helped me to understand how to use my muscles to do what they need to do. Paul (my trainer) and I wrote a special exercise section in my book, which can take you through what you need to do
