Motorists & Pedestrians at 9th Avenue - Haak en Steek

I would like to plead with the motorist to bear with every pedestrian using 9th Street - haak en Steek. Im a pedestrian and the taxis fron town to Fairlands drop us off at Cnr 9th street(If your lucky then you can get dropped off at the Garage in Cnr Rugby.
The reason we use 9th street is because it is more safeer even if it puts our lived at risk.Sometimes the motorists will drive so close to us and to a point that you are just an inch to being run over.It is Winter it gets dark quicker and thats why there is a lot of us using 9th Street. 7Th Street(Crossing the bridge from fairlands to weltervredenpark) is not safe in Winter but convinient in summer as it gets dark later and there are no robbers.If we can get the street lights at 7 and maybe have a security car from 4-7pm in the evening and 4-9am then there will be less pedestrians. In a way will be helping to decrease the traffic because we are grouping ourselves to send a letter to the The faraday association requesting the taxis to drop people off at the total garage and this will frustrate motorist cause there will be more traffic and you know how taxis are.

Solution:

Please help us with the Fairlands & Weltervredenpark Council to have street lights & security at the 7th Street. Can someone offer advise.
