Press release regarding murder in Sundowner last night
At approximately 19:36 it is alleged that Mr Keith Ward (58) was returning to his residence in Sundowner. His wife was in their house with three children aged 17, 13 and 2 when she heard a noise and on investigating she saw a male through the kitchen window. He allegedly pointed a firearm at her.
She ran with the children to the main bedroom and on the way they heard Mr Ward shouting for help and a shot went off. She locked the door of the bedroom and pressed the panic button.
On the arrival of the security company Mr Ward was found in the entertainment room, (not in the main house), with a gunshot wound. Mr Ward was declared dead on the scene.
Currently only a computer “Tower” box is missing from the scene. The rest of the family did not sustain any injuries. It is not clear at this point in time as to how many suspects were involved in this incident.
