Theft of gate motors is showing an increase in the Honeydew Precinct and owners are requested to please put extra methods in place to try and prevent the theft or tampering of gate motors. Owners are also asked to please mark their gate motors in order for us to trace the recovered motors and hand them back to the owner. Currently most gate motors are being stolen during the day, or being tampered with and then stolen during the night.
Property to the value of approximately R250 000 was also recovered including Plasma TV’s, Electronic goods, jewellery, cell phones, one hi-jacked vehicle and one firearm.
The Task Team also secured a sentence on a House Robbery case that occurred in October 2006. One suspect was arrested and sentenced in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court to ten years imprisonment and declared unfit to posses a firearm.
